I'm in the market for a new tea kettle. My current one spills all over the place when I pour water to make coffee. Luckily, my lovely friend Rachel gave me this article for guidance. Do you, readers, have a favorite kettle that you use? I'd love the suggestions.
Thanks, Rach, for finding the article and for taking this gorgeous photo! xoxo
You bring me out of the shadows with talk of kettles...
ReplyDeleteI have a copper kettle that's about 10 years old, that I desperately want to replace with this beauty:

Except a. I can't bring myself to replace something that's perfectly functional and kinda cool looking now it's so old and
b. I don't have the counter space.
But you can get one. Watching water boil has never been so much fun...
Megan,
ReplyDeleteThis is the decision of a lifetime! Unfortunately, many of the really cool ones seem to be out of stock. This one is really beautiful, but you may have to search. I think it is worth it. xo

Hi Megan....I'm in the market for a tea kettle as well! This is the one I have my eye on.... It is so pretty! http://www.amazon.com/Staub-Quart-Round-Teapot-Black/dp/B000AUMH4M
ReplyDeleteme too. my creuset, while a perfect shade of blue, rusted after two short years! and it was way more than $45 (what nytimes says it cost) - if you pick one that you love, make sure to let me know!
ReplyDeleteI like my Le Creuset! Why don't you get that one?
ReplyDeleteWe have a Le Creuset kettle that's a cream color and has been goin strong for at least 7 years now. I recommend :) Have fun kettle shopping!
ReplyDeleteMy advice would be to get one that has a handle that swings out of the way so it's easier to fill. Out of desperation, I bought a $20 chrome kettle at Wal-Mart and I've been shockingly happy with it for several years now, even though I feel guilty every time I buy anything from Wal-Mart. Good luck on your search!
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone for these wonderful suggestions. In the midst of my search, I picked up an adorable vintage orange Le Creuset sauce pot at a flea market in Marin that's currently serving as a sweet way to boil water. The best thing about it is that it has a little "spout" so I can see when it's boiling AND I can pour while keeping the lid on. Very cute! But heavy! So not a permanent solution.
